Debate Club

Welcome to Debate Club!

This extra-curricular activity is open to all students who are interested in exploring current events through a round-table discussion format.  I usually pick the session's topic; however, I am open to suggestions from students.  We begin each meeting with at least one text (an article or video/audio clip) in order to orient all participants to the issue.  I have some questions prepared to get the discussion going, but it is up to Debate Club participants to analyze the issue and engage with each other.

During this pandemic, we will meet roughly every other week in room A263 between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.  Students are always welcome regardless of how many or few meetings they may have attended.  A calendar may be accessed through the link below, and I also keep one posted outside my classroom door.
